Pelican Bay in Windsor Colorado

Northern Communities: Windsor Colorado

Windsor Colorado was settled in the late 1800s by immigrants who primarily farmed sugar beets. The Great Western Sugar Company provided economic stability until the closing of the plant in the late 1960s. Then, Eastman Kodak opened a manufacturing plant in 1969 with 350 employees and now employs some 2,000 workers. The plant is the primary manufacturing center for medical x-ray film, thermal media, motion picture film, and color paper.

Windsor Colorado is located between the three major northern Colorado towns of Loveland, Greeley and Ft. Collins, and is near Interstate 25. The city combines a small town atmosphere with big city conveniences; a great place to raise a family. Its proximity to popular northern Colorado attractions such as shopping, entertainment and mountain recreation has gained the community a solid reputation.

The town boosts a population of over 13,000 residents with 116 acres dedicated to parks; enough outdoor space for all to enjoy. A 19-mile long bike/pedestrian/in-line skating trail is presently under construction and will wind alongside the banks of the Cache La Poudre River. The city continues to grow at a steady pace, while maintaining a superior quality of life. From elegant million dollar homes on the golf courses to simple starter homes, the options for home buyers are endless. A wonderful place to live!
