Northern Communities: Frederick Colorado
Frederick Colorado's early history began as a mining camp and the town was soon incorporated in 1907. The immigrants who first settled in Frederick Colorado to work the coal mines were from Slavic countries, Turkey, Greece and Italy. Today, the town remains a very small town with a population of 4,651 (2002).
The town is situated between the sister towns of Dacono and Firestone in south western Weld County. These three towns are referred to as the Tri-Town area.
New residential and commercial growth is now being experienced. A total of 293 new home permits and 4 new commercial permits were issued during 2003. This new growth has paid for the paving of several dirt roads around the town, the replacement of old original water distribution lines, and the purchase of the Missing Links Golf Course.
Come visit Frederick's newest community...Countryside. Built by Centex, this community offers a variety of floor plans and model homes bordering open spaces. Prices range from the $260,000's to $320,000's.
