Boulder Colorado just might be the most unique city in the world; nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the heart of Colorado. You'll love the spectacular scenery, beautiful parks, mountain trails and a variety of lifestyles, cultural interests, business enterprises, educational and employment opportunities, and concern for the environment. Snuggled amongst towering mountains to the west, and surrounded by more than 31,000 acres of recreational open space and nature preserves, Boulder Colorado is the essence of "outdoor heaven".
Educational facilities include the University of Colorado, which opened in 1877, and Buddhist Naropa University. Over sixty-six percent (66%) of the residents, 25 years of age and older within the city, have a bachelor degree or higher.
In 1899, tungsten was discovered in the Boulder Valley. This metal was hard and was used as the wire of a light bulb. Boulder County was the leading producer of tungsten by the beginning of World War I.
Several federal science laboratories find their homes here, including National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), National Institute of Standards (NIST), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In general, businesses thrive in Boulder. Think about Boulder real estate as your next investment.
Travel time to Denver International Airport (DIA) is only thirty-five (35) minutes. Also, the smaller Boulder Municipal Airport now serves the general aviation needs of the community by providing "business related" flying and recreational flying. The main runway is asphalt paved and 4,100 feet long.
The town is famous for its picturesque Flatiron Mountains and Chautauqua Park. Enjoy the nostalgic Pearl Street mall with its shops, restaurants, brew pubs and entertainment; a four (4) block long pedestrian mall brimming with tourists and eclectic locals. You will enjoy watching the strolling people and the street performers!
A new Twenty Ninth Street retail center will hopefully spawn renewed interest by consumers in surrounding properties and stores. This reborn center, formally known as Crossroads Shopping Center, will hopefully change some consumer shopping habits of going to Louisville, Longmont and Broomfield. This new mall opened its doors to the public on October 13, 2006. The location between the busy 28th and 30th Streets did not deter customers in the least. Hoards of people enjoyed the new amenities, including an enormous new cinema complex, Wild Oats grocery store, and numerous apparel, cosmetic, and specialty shops. Restaurants, featuring a variety of ethnic cuisines such as Asian, Italian, and American, are plentiful. The selection of stores and restaurants throughout the mall fits the budget and taste of people of all ages and interests.
The community is close to "world class" ski resorts, "big city" cultural attractions, an international airport, four national sport teams and Rocky Mountain National Park. The Boulder Dinner Theater and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts offer outstanding entertainment. Each summer the "nationally acclaimed" Shakespeare Festival is performed on the University of Colorado campus. Also, the city has its own Philharmonic Orchestra. Swimming, boating, sailing, and recreation are available at the Boulder Reservoir.
If your cultural tastes run more towards fine dining, then your Boulder real estate purchase may just be a passport to an endless world of fine dining opportunities. The sumptuous Flagstaff House Restaurant offers gourmet dining and outstanding views from its mountain setting.

The city's sunny and mild climate, over 300 days of sunshine per year, lends itself to "year round" recreation. If family growth and business development is one of your requirements for your next home, you won't find a better option than Boulder CO real estate. Both families and businesses abound, and the clean, natural surroundings provide the perfect scene for both personal and professional expansion. You will love this community!
