ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL
PARK
Gateway Through Estes Park

Panoramic Vistas of Towering Summits |
Countless breathtaking adventures
and experiences can be found in Rocky Mountain National Park. As then President
Woodrow Wilson in 1915 proclaimed: “In years to come when I am asleep forever
beneath the pines, thousands of families will find rest and hope in this
park…”. In 2009, approximately 3,000,000 visitors took
advantage of the park’s majestic mountain views, a variety of wildlife, varied
climate changes and environments…from wooded forests to mountain
tundra.
Trail Ridge Road connects the
gateway town of Estes Park from the east and Grand Lake to the west.
Three major routes provide easy access to the park…US Highways 34, 36 and
State Highway 7. The Continental Divide splits the park and
runs northwest to southeast along the center of the park.
The park contains 150 lakes, 450
miles (720 km) of streams, and 359 miles (578 km) of trails. Over 265,000 acres
(1,076 km²) of land is encompassed by the park. There are five drive-in camping
facilities and many designated backcountry campsites.
Rocky Mountain National
Park…soaring cliffs, snowcapped peaks, picturesque valleys and rivers, with
colorful alpine flowers, and nature’s variety of wildlife.
Those who are fortunate to be
either invested in and/or to live in Estes Park have, truly, one of the world’s
most perfect playgrounds at their doorstep. Ask anyone who lives in Estes
Park…they’ll tell you it’s a great way to personally and professionally
participate in one of this country’s most pristine mountain
communities.
